Put the Heart Back into NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) promised much needed care and support for our most vulnerable citizens. But while very well intentioned, poor implementation, staffing caps and complex bureaucracy have led to:

- Over half of NDIS participants, particularly those with intellectual disabilities, finding themselves no better, or worse off, under the NDIS.

- Two thirds of disability workers, most of whom are low-paid women, saying they are worse off under the NDIS after facing increased workloads, cuts to their wages and conditions, and decreased job security through casualisation.

- Shortcuts in the training of new workers, leading to participants being left in the care of workers without the proper skills to support them properly.

Why is this important?

This election, we’re asking you to guarantee the high-quality NDIS that was promised to us.
Only a fully-funded NDIS can deliver a properly trained and accredited workforce which our most vulnerable deserve.

Reasons for signing

  • I have a Disabled son and N D I S still haven't got their act together properly
  • Because I consider that the delivery of the NDIS has to be equal for all.
  • I have a son with a physical and intellect disability. He has been in a group home since he was 17. I have seen some really bad changes over the last 12/18 months re management and staff changes
