Sanitarium: Treat your workers fairly!

In the middle of the COVID-19 crisis, our employer, Sanitarium, is trying to ram through an anti-worker agreement. They are using the crisis to set in stone their culture of disrespect, insecure work and unsafe practices.

For a company that prides itself on its values, we can’t see those values being applied.

The company has treated us with contempt, refusing to negotiate in good faith.
At Sanitarium we are facing:
- Insecure work, with many workers on casual contracts
- Serious safety issues with the machines we use
- A classification system the discriminates against women
- Wages well below industry standards

We are asking for your support to get management to understand and to listen to us. Please sign our letter to Kevin Jackson, the CEO of Sanitarium.

Why is this important?

Sanitarium is a registered charity and one of Australia’s most iconic brands. But behind it’s charitable image, we are faced with disrespect, unsafe working conditions and insecure work.

We make some of Australia’s most iconic breakfasts like Weetbix and UP&GO but are being totally stiffed on job security and safety.

During the COVID-19 crisis, we are putting ourselves and our family at risk every day to continue to make the products people in Australia rely on. But our employer, Sanitarium, refuses to even consider our reasonable requests for secure and safe work.
