Gig Workers Victoria
Gig Workers Victoria is a network of on demand workers housed in Victorian Trades Hall Council, working alongside the Transport Workers Union and the Delivery Riders Alliance.
Gig workers are standing up to improve their safety, pay and conditions for all in the ‘on-demand’ economy.
Our team of organisers are seeking to empower on demand workers in Victoria with the knowledge and skills needed to end workplace exploitation and insecurity.
By joining together, we are stronger at work.
Our vision is for on demand workers to be safe and heard at work, have a living wage and afforded decent working conditions. For this vision to be realised, we need on demand workers to speak up without fear and join together to make change.

Deliveroo: Raise the RateOur hours, daily and weekly earnings are lower than they've ever been before, even though we've been doing the same job the whole time. Riders used to be paid $18.50 an hour and now we're not paid an hourly rate at all. Deliveries can be as low as $6 or less, despite Deliveroo promising they wouldn't go below $8 per delivery. There's no transparency and no ability to say no to changes in our wages. We just notice it going down through the app. We work in the cold conditions during winter. We work really hard for peanuts. Seeing our wages go down and down is gut-wrenching. We can't depend on these wages. We are demanding Deliveroo raise our rates of pay and lock them in. Deliveroo workers need security and a living wage. Aditya, PK and Radhesh2,272 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Aditya, PK and Radhesh
