NTEU is the only union solely representing employees in Australian tertiary education. We are a democratic member organisation run by your colleagues, for you! We have a branch office on campus at every Australian university, so we're never far away. NTEU has over 28,000 members in every Australian university and many other tertiary education providers.
We represent academic, general/professional and research staff, ELICOS/TESOL teachers and staff of research institutes, student unions, university companies, and (in Victoria) TAFE general staff and staff in Adult & Community Education.

Education for all - Stop fee hikes!Tertiary education is critical to our national interest and our future. It’s the intellectual and economic engine room powering Australia in health, technology, research, ideas and innovation. If the Government continues down a path of funding cuts and hiked fees it will wreck our universities and put our long-term future at risk.15,715 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Dr. Alison Barnes, NTEU
Coronavirus: Don’t make uni staff pay!No university worker should be forced to choose between quarantine and feeding their family. The Coronavirus Covid-19 crisis is engulfing Australia - and our universities are in the eye of the storm. Right now, job security is health security and we need university Vice-Chancellors to do the right thing by staff, students and the public. That means securing our rights at work so we can protect our health at home. No-one can predict how long this crisis will continue - perhaps weeks or months. That's why we need to lock in firm commitments from university employers now to keep things fair, and keep us safe.12,572 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Steve Adams and Amy Thomas, NTEU members
