LGEA For YES!
Australians are soon going to be asked to vote on whether Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should have a say on the issues that affect their communities.
The LGEA are advocating for a strong YES vote so that we can move forward together!
Why is this important?
At the LGEA, we believe that everyone should have a say in the issues that affect our communities.
We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart and, by extension, the Unions for Yes campaign for First Nations Constitutional recognition and a Voice to Parliament.
We believe that all Australians will benefit from hearing the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and sharing in First Nations contributions to our national identity.
