The Launceston Chamber of Commerce have called on the Government to allow One Hour Shifts for some workers.
We need our politicians to rule out allowing One Hour Shifts.
Tell Andrew Nikolic MP to reject these calls from the Launceston Chamber of Commerce. Sign the petition against One Hour Shifts.
This will force vulnerable low paid workers to come into work for a shift that could pay less than $10.
For many it will cost more to get to and from work than they'll get paid.
If they don't show they may not get any more shifts.
It's completely unfair.
One hour shifts are an abuse of working conditions, and impractical for most people. Lacking minimum hours, it should be paid at triple the usual rates.
One Hour Shifts are ridiculous!
Young people who would need to use public transport to and from work would be worse off if they were getting paid ten bucks an hour, they would take home around 3 dollars after bus fares!
