Scott Morrison, withdraw from the Australian Christian Lobby conference NOW!
We want Scott Morrison and the Liberal Party to cease its involvement with the Australian Christian Lobby.
Why is this important?
For years the Australian Christian Lobby have actively attacked the rights of LGBTI people by campaigning against almost every legislative reform designed to treat LGBTI people as equal citizens. Over the last 21 years they have made countless statements that degrade the LGBTI community, including comparing same-sex couples raising children to the Stolen Generation, and labelling homosexuality as more hazardous as smoking.
On April 23 the Australian Christian Lobby will be holding its annual National Conference at the Wesley Conference Centre in Sydney, and they will feature a range of anti-gay and anti-trans speakers, including Dr Jeffery J Ventrella from the US-based "Alliance Defending Freedom" organisation, who actively campaign's against the decriminalisation of homosexuality in countries where it remains a crime.
No member of Parliament should be involving themselves with an organisation that seeks to harm members of our community, and no member of Parliament should be speaking at this conference.
