To: All Victorian candidates

Respect our dignity!

Victoria is the first state to pass voluntary assisted dying laws in Australia.
After years of hard work and consideration and debate by so many, the law finally gives Victorians with a terminal illness the compassion and dignity they deserve at the end of their lives.

But now this landmark legislation is under threat.

Extreme conservatives want to force Victorians suffering with a chronic illness to endure intolerable suffering in their final months and weeks of life. They want the Coalition to delay or repeal these laws if they are elected in November 2018.

Don’t let them deny Victorians their end of life choice. We need to move on.

Why is this important?

I support Victorians’ Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation. That’s why I’m asking all candidates to commit to this legislation, so that Victorians with a terminal illness receive the compassion and dignity they deserve at the end of their lives. It is time to end the division on this important issue.

Victoria is the first state to pass voluntary assisted dying legislation. Conservatives now want to deny Victorians compassion and dignity at the end of their lives.
