Stop funding private providers at the expense of TAFEs

Victorian public TAFEs are being forced to compete with profit-driven private providers that deliver substandard training.

TAFE is the backbone of Victoria’s vocational education sector. It provides students with high quality education and the skills that produce job ready graduates.

We need to expand free TAFE courses and guarantee at least 70 percent of vocational education funding for TAFEs.

Why is this important?

Vulnerable young people, the unemployed and retrenched workers looking to retrain deserve the quality education that Victorian TAFEs provide.

Together we can send a strong message to the major political parties ahead of the November state election to make sure they commit to allocating at least 70 percent of vocational education funding to public TAFEs.
