Yakult workers in Dandenong South are taking indefinite action for a fair increase of 3% - we know that Yakult can afford it. Australia is a high growth region for Yakult and in 2016-17 they raked in profits of $332 MILLION!
While Yakult’s profits grow, workers’ wages have stagnated. The cost of living has been increasing while our wages haven’t. Low wage growth effects our families and communities. It’s not fair that we are falling behind because companies like Yakult won’t lift wages.
