Brisbane City Council workers need a fair wage increase
We are calling on Brisbane City Council (BCC) to pass on a fair wage increase to its workforce to ease the financial pressures on us, our families and our communities.
Cost-of-living increases are making it harder and harder for workers to make ends meet whilst budget cuts and constant change are creating an increasingly uncertain and fractured working environment.
BCC is currently at the table engaging with union stakeholders for a new Certified Agreement. Now it the time for us as workers to come together and strengthen our collective voice for a pay rise!
As Australia’s largest local government authority and one of Brisbane’s biggest employers, BCC needs to send a message that, in these uncertain times, the economic well being of its workforce is a top priority.
As Australia’s largest local government authority and one of Brisbane’s biggest employers, BCC needs to send a message that, in these uncertain times, the economic well being of its workforce is a top priority.
That’s why we are calling on BCC to pass on a wage increase that will help to ease the financial strain of its workforce.
Why is this important?
Put simply, BCC workers are in the middle of a perfect (or imperfect) storm with the cost of living increasing and wages stagnating - a wage increase that provides financial relief for workers is essential!
