Fair Pay for Fitness Workers!

United Workers Union

Union members at Goodlife Heath Clubs and Fitness First are fighting for wage justice. Group Fitness Instructors (GFIs) are struggling to make rent and pay their bills because the costs associated with teaching classes now outweighs our low rate of pay. The company that owns both gyms (FLG) has refused to meet with workers in their union to negotiate a fair deal, leaving us to struggle on poverty wages.
Enough is enough! Goodlife and Fitness First employees and community members are calling on Greg Oliver (CEO) to do the right thing:
1. Immediately correct any pay discrepancies under their existing pay structure
2. Commit to a pay structure overhaul that values your employees contribution, developed in consultation with Union members

Why is this important?

Some of us have been paid the same rate of $42.50 per class for 15 years service in the brand. While fees for club members and company profits go up, our pay remains the same.
Cost of living is at an all-time high and we are struggling to make ends meet. GFIs are educators, community leaders and athletes who are deeply passionate about the work they do. It is time FLG recognised this and commits to a wage structure that is fair and sustainable.
Union members are asking their community to stand with them and sign and share this petition.

FITNESS WORKERS WIN PAY RISE! We are already having an effect - since we launched this petition we have received thousands of signatures and media coverage, forcing the gyms to finally agree to give these workers a much-needed pay rise.

But the work is not over. We need to keep pushing this petition to ensure that fitness workers get a FAIR pay rise that helps keep their heads above water with the rising cost of living.

If we can get the company to move after 3,500 signatures imagine what we can achieve with 10,000 signatures!
