Tell Kevin Hogan MP to save our penalty rates

North Coast and Northern Rivers workers in the fast food, retail and pharmacy sectors rely on Sunday and public holiday penalty rates to keep their heads above water. Slashing their pay will not only hurt local families, it will put increasing pressure on our stretched community services. We call on the Member for Page, Kevin Hogan MP, to stand up for our community and ensure that penalty rates are protected by law.

Why is this important?

There are hundreds, if not thousands of local families that will suffer because of the decision to slash Sunday and public holiday penalty rates. People across the North Coast and Northern Rivers are demanding action. In fact, A survey by ReachTel found that 66.4% of voters in the seats of Page, Dawson and Corangamite think their local MP should support changes to the law to protect penalty rates.

How it will be delivered

The petition will be delivered to Mr Hogan's office.

Reasons for signing

  • ...because it's time Hogan did something beneficial for the Northern Rivers instead of just following orders from the Corporate-owned Party.
  • I signed this because if they can do this to retail, fast food etc, then health is next, we need to stop it now before anyone else is effected. There playing with our lives and it's not just.
  • Weekends are the only time parents can spend time with their children. There is no justification in lowering their penalty rates.
